The #unportraitproject was born in 2018 as a way to capture children in their most natural and fleeting state, all while supporting a cause near and dear to our hearts - The Massry Family Children's Emergency Center at Albany Medical Center. This endeavor raised over $6000 for the children’s emergency center & was so highly received (by us and our clients!) that we decided to make these sessions our hallmark offering.
what are unportrait sessions?
Your child, as art. Stripped down & back to basics. Simple & modern. Editorial. Emphasis on detail and what makes your child unique. Personality, not posed. Clean, not cluttered. Our simple, naturally lit white backdrop allows you to tailor your session to your child and with your end product in mind. Unportrait sessions are 15-20 minutes long, and result in at least 12-15 beautifully curated, unique black & white images to choose from.
who are they for?
Unportrait sessions are perfect for all ages, from babies with burgeoning personalities and chubby details, to teenagers on the brink of adulthood. Babies must be sitting independently or able to push up on their arms while on their belly (we recommend a minimum of 4-5 months old). Sibling & family images are always welcome!
when?
Unportrait sessions are held several times per year in Clifton Park. These sessions are in high demand and fill very quickly! Upcoming dates are reflected in the booking calendar below. Looking for a future date? Contact us to be added to the wait list for first dibs on future sessions.
what is the cost?
Unportrait sessions are $400 and include your 20 minute session & digital images. 50% is due up front to reserve your session and is non-refundable but transferable, with the remainder due upon receipt of your images. Unportraits are perfectly suited for fine art, high impact pieces for any area of your home... think playrooms, bedrooms, or anywhere that could benefit from a fun and modern conversation piece… and we offer the ability to add on wall portraits a la carte.
why not color?
Our unportrait images are only created in black & white as we feel this classic format allows all of the little details to really shine. Plus, black & white images are stunning as large format prints and coordinate well with any decor in your home. If you are a die-hard color enthusiast, take our word for it… we promise you’ll be blown away!
