If you own a camera that has all sorts of bells and whistles, and you don't know the first thing to do with it... other than throw it on auto and hope for the best... you are in good company. We've heard the same story a million times over! Moms, dads, grandparents, etc., who own a camera or have a budding interest in photograph, and just don't know where to begin. Photography is (quite obviously) a visual craft, and learning the basic technical aspects on your own can be quite daunting. Not to mention everything else that goes along with it... what equipment to buy, how to find the right lighting (and stop using that on camera flash!), and how to actually get an in focus, properly lit, happy, smiling photo of your littlest subjects.

Our workshops were created just for those of you frustrated at how seemingly impossible it is to fully grasp the technical side of things, and those who have missed one too many moments thanks to a blurry image. We offer two set ups to suit learning styles and busy schedules:

if you like to learn one on one, hands on....

this workshop is for...

Those who are looking to improve their knowledge of basic photography, and who would prefer a one on one, hands on approach. It is required that you have a DSLR and at least one lens (we recommend a wide aperture prime lens such as the 50 mm 1.8) Workshops can be private or semi-private... find a friend and split the cost!. This workshop is not intended for aspiring or current professionals.

it includes...

  • One or two (1) hour sessions with Ashley with personal, undivided attention. Sessions may focus on teaching, hands on work, or a combination of both.
  • A comprehensive PDF workbook filled with curriculum, info & examples
  • Topics include aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, lenses, composition, natural lighting (indoors & outdoors), basic post processing, storing and printing your images, and tips for working with children & capturing natural, emotive images.
  • Bonus content on how to translate your new skills to getting beautiful every day shots with your iPhone.
  • Email support from Ashley for (1) week after each session
  • Permanent access to our ABP workshop Facebook group once the session has ended
  • Ability to add on (1) hour "refresher" sessions, anytime in the next year ($75.00)
